8–10 mm Rutilated Quartz beads — clear quartz shot through with fine mineral needles. Cut and polished on a lathe into an even strand, ready to string as it arrives.

Hardness 7; the needles sit inside the stone, so clean gently and avoid knocks on hard surfaces.
