Cinnabar

Cinnabar is mercury sulphide, worked by carving rather than cutting. It is deep red, fully opaque and soft at 2–2.5 on the Mohs scale, so the surface takes a carving cleanly but marks just as easily.

We currently stock a carved cinnabar ring in 925 sterling silver. Each one is carved by hand, so the pattern varies slightly from piece to piece — the photo shows the exact ring you receive.
