Emerald

Emerald is the green variety of beryl, coloured by chromium and vanadium. It sits at 7.5–8 on the Mohs scale, but the stones almost always carry natural inclusions and internal fractures, so they dislike ultrasonic cleaners, steam and sudden heat.
